This ICD
was set up in December, 1999 with M/s
Continental Warehousing Corporation Ltd. (CWCL)
as the custodian. Initially, it was
functioning under the jurisdiction of
Commissioner of Central Excise,
Delhi-III. In June, 2000 it was brought
under the direct supervision of the Delhi
ICDs. M/s Maruti Udyog are the leading
importer at this ICD, alongwith other
industries. Therefore, ICD Garhi Harsaru
is becoming significant from the revenue
point of view.
Although the full complement of staff on
cost recovery basis was sanctioned by the
Ministry in October, 2000, the posts have
not been filled up and consequently the
staff posted at ICD:TKD is shouldering the
work of ICD, Garhi Harsaru at present to
facilitate the operations till the regular
staff is provided and posted.
